Welcome To Pilgrims and Pioneers!

After many years of researching my family geneaology I have been lucky enough to discover actual information about my relatives that lived in the Pilgrim Era and the Pioneer Era- while many people also have realtives from those eras- many do not know their names or where they lived- actually seeing the proof in print makes you much more aware of who they really were.
After discovering these relatives it of course made me curious to learn more about the eras that they lived in and what their lives were like as, the history I learned in grade school had long since been forgotten.
I decided to start this blog for others who are also interested in these eras.
Some of the information here will be actual facts about my realtives and some will be information about the eras in general that I have found on the web.
I hope you will enjoy traveling back in time with me!

Oh My What a Day!

Hubby and I both had to be in different places at the same time this morning- soooo he dropped me off and went to his appointment. When he came to pick me up he was white as a sheet! It turns out that he had missed a stair step and had fallen- had a hard time getting in the truck to pick me up. he thought he had broken some ribs- so I drove him to the ER,
We spent 6 hours there having various tests- and a lot of pain medicine! Two Vicodin tablets- an hour later a Morphine injection- an hour after that Delaudid injection. After about 4 hours his blood sugar went low- so they did give him something to eat which he promptly threw up!They finally decided his ribs were bruised not broken. I had to go pick my son up so that he could help me get him in to the house as he is walking bent at the waist! and so he could stay with him so I could go to the store.
Of course supper did not stay down x 2! The dog wants to be in his lap all of the time- all 60 pounds of her, Since she can't she thinks dadddy does not love her anymore and has been under my feet ever since we got home.
Don't get me wrong I love my hubby and I know he is in a lot of pain- but I am very glad my patient has finally gone to bed and hopefully will stay there all night! I am pooped!

Hey Deb
How scarey that must have been for him and for you until you discovered it is only bruised. With all that med without food, it's a wonder that any of the pills stayed down before he tried the food. eww. poor baby.
hope he feels better soon

I once had a pain injection like this and I vomited as well...some do not tolerate narcotics well.
also Deb, soft cartilage that fractures will not always show up on film..once calcifications starts, you may see healing begin on a fracture that didn't show up originally...so tell him to be very careful ..poor guy..and yes...poor momma!
