My Pilgrim Grandfather's Land Mates ( Neighbors)

I found this document on an educational site while doing research on my 10th great grandfather Eduoard Bompasse that arrived at Plimoth Plantation in 1621 having made his journey on the passenger ship Fortune. These people would have been his neighbors in the year 1623. It is interesting to see the Olde English spelling of some words:
these lye on the north side of the towne next adjoyning to their gardens which came in the Fortune.

Edward Winslow 4
Richard Warren
John Goodman
John Crackstone
John Alden
Marie Chilton
Captin Myles Standish 2
Francis Eaton 4

The fales of their ground which came in the Fortune according as their lots were cast 1623. This ship came Novr1621
these lye to the sea, eastward.

These lye beyond the fort to the wood west.

  1. Very strange spellings!

I can'thelp it, when I read olden-time words, I read them with a peculiar accent...very drawn-out...but I guess they were actually just said normally even though spelled oddly!
