Pioneers Emigrate to Canada

My grandmother's half brother Clarence Shere was an adult before my grandmother was born. In the early 1900's he packed up his family & moved from Yorktown, Il to Drinkwater, Saskatchewan, Canada.

I have been lucky enough to find these photos from Canada at the Tampico Historical Society. Apparently my great grandfather Will Shere traveled to Canada for a visit back in 1910! He is one of the men in the barn photo- I haven't been successful in enlarging this photo to see whic one he is yet!

  2. Those pioneers were such hardy people. I would NEVER have the guts to move to such a cold climate as in that part of Canada!

I think your ancestors were made of sterner stuff than mine! Mine all ran south!
